God Always Has an Answer!

Does God always have answers to all my questions?

Psst! Someone told me that God does not always have answers to our questions (you know who that someone is, right?) Well, guess what – today’s post is going to prove to you, me and anyone else who would like to know, that God does have answers to our questions! Keep reading…

Where are you, God?

There are times when I have felt so alone, feeling like God has gone off on a long journey to bless somebody else and forgotten about me. Have you ever felt the same? The verses below should be of great help!

Psalm 145:18 “The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.” (NLT)

As long as you keep calling on God, he remains close to you, right next to you, even if you cannot see or feel his presence!

Hebrews 13:5b states, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (NIV)

He promises to never leave us alone! How encouraging!

How about this verse from Deuteronomy, spoken to Joshua as he was being given the huge task of taking over from Moses?

Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (NIV)

The Lord promises to be with us all the time, both leading the way and walking beside us. Many times we don’t see him because we are so engrossed in our worries and our lives. Next time you feel alone, shut out your cares for a moment and instead focus on the Lord, and he will comfort you with his presence.

Am I the only one going through this trial?

There are so many times when I have felt like the trial I am going through is the first and worst of its kind! At such times, I wonder why God allows such trials to come my way, and then I remember the verse below…

1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” (NIV)

In the New Living Translation, this verse reads …

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” (NLT)

First, the temptations (trials) are not different from what others experience! Second, God does not give you a trial that you cannot handle – in other words, he has confidence that you will get through it in one piece! Lastly, he ALWAYS provides a way out!

Let us think about this for a moment. A trial or temptation does not come into your life randomly – there is always a purpose for it. God lets us go through trials for one reason – to build our faith in him. When you are in a trial, therefore, as soon as you realize that the only way you can get out is by trusting in him as the ONLY one who can get you out, your perspective changes from one of fear to one of faith!

This verse from 1st Peter summarizes this point perfectly.

1 Peter 5:10b “So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.” (NLT)

Lord, do you still love me?

In any relationship, the reassurance of love is very important. For example, a child will want to keep hearing his or her parents say, “I love you”. In marriage, both husband and wife will long to hear their spouse utter words of love! In the same way, we need to hear God’s words of love spoken to us often, as a reminder of how much he treasures us.

Do you feel like God does not love you? Check out the verses below – they will encourage you.

Jeremiah 31:3 ‘Long ago the Lord said to Israel “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.’” (NLT)

God’s love towards us is everlasting – it never ends! Even in those moments when you feel unloved, he still loves you!

Psalm 36:7 “How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.” (NLT)

Unfailing love! Wow! Love that is faithful, not dependent on what you have you done, or who you are! Love that never lets us down!

Here is another verse on his unfailing love.

Psalm 57:10 “For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.” (NLT)

Do you still feel like God doesn’t love you? Here is another verse…

Psalm 5:12 “For you bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love.” (NLT)

And one more…

Psalm 31:7 “I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love, for you have seen my troubles, and you care about the anguish of my soul.” (NLT)

Friends, I hope you now feel as encouraged as I do, knowing that God does have answers to all our questions, buried in his Word. Let me conclude with one final verse, one that encourages us to always ask God for answers when we are in doubt.

Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” (NIV)
